Philosophy and Background
Since graduating from law school, Peyton has developed a unique and diverse legal background. She first became well acquainted with difficult legal issues, fast-paced litigation, and trial practice during her time as a prosecutor. More recently, Peyton found her passion for working with families while aiding clients in navigating the Child Protective Services process. Today, as a family law attorney in private practice, Peyton now brings these experiences and her commitment to helping others at Elise Buie Family Law Group.
Despite her time in the courtroom, Peyton recognizes, particularly in the area of family law, that court is not the only nor most desired option for clients to reach their goals. Instead, Peyton is committed to using alternative dispute resolution as a strategy before heading to court, understanding that many disputes can be settled without the intervention of a judge.
Peyton holds her B.A. from Arizona State University in political science with a minor in criminal justice and her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.
Role in the Seattle Community
Peyton remains active in legal and political organizations that advocate for equal access to voting rights for all, including Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and Four Directions Native Vote. In her spare moments, Peyton enjoys rock climbing, riding horses, and traveling. When she is at home, she can be found gardening alongside her three dogs, two rabbits, and her cats.
