Marissa Clauss is a highly skilled paralegal at Elise Buie Family Law Group. A jack of all trades, she brings a decade of legal experience in the areas of family law, bankruptcy, criminal law, civil litigation, estate planning, probate, and elder law.

In addition to her associate’s degree in paralegal studies, Marissa holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Middle Tennessee State University, as well as a master’s degree in psychology with a focus on child and adolescent development from Southern New Hampshire University.

Marissa’s education and personal experiences fuel her desire to be a fierce advocate for children, domestic abuse survivors, mental health awareness, and the LGBTQIA+ community. She also has specialized training as a crisis counselor and CASA volunteer advocate.

Marissa is dedicated to providing compassion and support to clients, understanding that they are often navigating one of the most challenging periods of their lives. She finds it important to build a relationship with clients based on trust by meeting them where they are and offering them understanding, transparency, and guidance tailored to their unique situation. Marissa’s empathetic approach has made her a trusted ally to countless individuals and families seeking resolution.

Outside of work, Marissa can most likely be found spending quality time with her children or keeping up with the small zoo of animals she maintains. She also enjoys engaging in creative outlets through photography, writing children’s books, and painting.
