About the Legal Assistant Position

What you’ll be doing:
As a Legal Assistant, you will handle a wide range of administrative and legal support duties, including:
- Responding to client emails and calls with care and professionalism
- Managing case calendars and legal documents
- Drafting and preparing basic legal documents in collaboration with attorneys and paralegals
- Assisting with discovery responses and preparing materials for mediation and trials
- Ensuring all documents comply with legal standards and firm policies
- Actively participating in team meetings and contributing to process improvements
- Assisting with special projects and ad-hoc tasks as needed
- Building strong relationships with clients, team members, and the broader community
- Helping to network, market, and position EBFLG as a leader in family law
What You Bring:
- At least 2 years of experience in a legal environment, ideally with knowledge of Washington State court rules and procedures (King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties)
- Experience with legal technology such as Dropbox, Adobe, MS Office 365, Slack, Clio, or the ability to quickly learn new tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to express compassion in all interactions
- Ability to meet agreed-upon billable hour targets and maintain accurate timekeeping
- A proactive, self-sufficient, and detail-oriented approach to work
- A collaborative spirit and a commitment to working effectively within a team
- A willingness to learn, grow, and embrace feedback in a remote work environment
- A strong sense of community, both within the firm and in your local area
- A passion for empowering clients to make informed, emotionally intelligent decisions
- Stable internet and phone access
What you get:
Full-time employees and/or their dependents are offered partially subsidized medical and dental insurance, long-term disability, life insurance, and a matching 401k plan, subject to plan requirements. Employees will also receive annual paid time off including, 9 paid holidays, 5 paid personal days, up to 4 weeks paid and up to 8 weeks unpaid bonding leave, 8 hours of paid volunteer time, and additional sick time. Hourly pay range: $20-$30
